Skin SOS: Surviving The Heat This Summer

As the weather warms up and the days get longer, your skin faces a whole new set of challenges. Here are some of the most common skin issues you might face this Summer and how to combat them.

Sunburn

Sun exposure leads to UV radiation damaging the skin, causing redness, pain, and peeling.

How to Combat:

• Apply sunscreen of at least SPF30 or higher. Ensure to reapply every 1-2 hours, especially when swimming. 
• Stay in the shade or wear protective clothing including hats, long sleeves and pants.

Hyperpigmentation 

Sun spots and hyperpigmentation are both caused by exposure to UV rays from the sun. 

How to Combat:

• Ensure to apply sunscreen of at least SPF30 or higher. 
• Avoid sun exposure to prevent hyperpigmentation from getting darker.
