Summer Skin Food

Summer is the perfect time to eat healthy and delicious food. Often the freshest fruit and vegetables are readily available during the warmer months. This makes our decision to eat for good skin even easier as many of these summer foods are packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and even water!

Avocado

Avocado is full of healthy fats and is a rich source of vitamin E & C, these help your skin produce collagen which aids in keeping your skin plump, hydrated and assists in preventing visible signs of ageing. Avocado can also protect your skin from environmental free radicals and inflammation in the skin often present during the hotter months.

Mango

Arguably everyone’s favourite summer fruit, mango is also a great source of Vitamin C much like avocado, mango can help reduce visible signs of ageing. The vitamin A present in Mango’s is known to aid in repairing skin cells which may assist in healing sun-damaged skin which is most common after a day in the summer sun.

Leafy greens

Greens, in general, are a great vegetable for detoxifying the body and intern your skin. However, leafy greens specifically are a rich source of antioxidants that aid in repairing damaged skin and boosting all-round skin health.

Water dense fruit and vegetables.

Water is ultimately the key to good skin during summer and all year! By eating water-dense fruit and vegetables you help to increase your daily consumption and keep your body/skin hydrated whilst receiving a vitamin hit. The best water-dense foods to consume include, strawberries, cucumber, celery, watermelon, oranges, pineapple, peaches, lettuce, and zucchini.
