One-minute people are praising caffeine for its skin benefits, the next it’s a complete no-no but what effect does caffeine really have on our skin? Should we really be worried about our morning pick-me-up?

Dehydration

Caffeine has been known to have a natural diuretic effect which can cause fluid loss and dehydration when consumed.

So, what does this mean for your skin?

Dehydrated cells are not able to absorb nutrients easily and besides leading to dry skin, dehydration can also increase skin inflammation and a loss in collagen.
